The Worlds Best PDA?
I remember when HPS IPAQ series was introduced, back in April 2000. I thought, Why buy one now? If I wait a few years theyll release superior models, packed with dozens more features. Although technolagy does and allways will improve every day, now is the time to make an investment.

Whilst a lot of PDAs in the market are hideously ugly, the design of the H2210 is nothing short of outstanding, its a very small and slim device, it has grip on each side and fits in your hand perfectly. You can ignore the saying, "Never judge a book by its cover" because its appearance is nothing compared to the pda itself.

After a day with my H2210, I realised... why would anyone want to buy an mp3 player, or a portable dvd player when you can buy one of these. I loaded an episode of the Simpsons onto a compact flash disk, and played it with my H2210. It was very smooth, and the video & audio quality was outstanding. I also tried playing a few MP3s.. they also played with no problem.
One of the great features of the H2210, is its expandibility. It accepts SecureDigital and CompactFlash cards. What does this mean? It means you can hook it up to almost any electrical device - be it a Digital Camera, MP3 Player, Digital Camcorder and a range of other devices.

Also included, is its bluetooth capability. I had it connected up with my SonyEricsson T610 with ease. I could send pictures id taken with my camera phone, ringtones, screensavers e.t.c
I also had no problem sending files back to my phone.
And it also has "the old" infared port. However, It comes with an application which turns your pda into a remote control. You can set it to control almost anything - dvd players, televisions, video machines e.t.c. While I was testing this great app, I realised the InfaRed port had a rather "long" range... To put it simply, My nextdoor neighbour was slightly confused as to why his television had a mind of its own.

Although the PDA doesnt have a built in wireless networking card, you can buy a compact-flash adaptor for it, and although I havent got one myself - Ive been told theyre easy to setup and use.

Its powered by the fastest mobile processor currently available, a 400MHZ XSCALE CPU. It runs games with ease and with great performance. It also comes with PocketPC 2003 Premium edition and WindowsMedia Player 9, the most upto date OS available. It also comes with a USB Cradle for easy charging.

Its worth every penny - and no matter who you are, you will find a use from this. The only other PDA to look at is the BigDaddy Ipaq (the H2210s brother), the H5550. However, unless you really think you need a biometric fingerprint scanner stick with this model.
You dont need to look any further than this.

Great bit of kit!
I was a previous palm Vx owner and upgraded to the Hp 2210 with windows CE.
So far I have found it a great tool. It is a good mix of price, features and size, and it seems to do everything well. The addition of a blue tooth adapter for my PC means I can sync wirelessly with outlook and Act 6.0, and also with my Siemens phone all via bluetooth. The irda port also works well for transfering data and it seems quite happy sending and receiving contact and diary entries with my wifes Palm.
The battery doesnt last as well as the Palm, which might be an issue for some people, but it is a far more sophisticated tool so I guess you would be mad to to expect it to.
The only other down side is the limited amount of freeware and programs for this platform - nothing like as much as Palm. They are usually more expensive to buy, and CE variants of common software programs or add on tools for synchronising are often extra, or not available even where you think a link to your PDA was an obvious requirement. I suppose this might change with time.
All in all though a great bit of kit, and at Aamazon prices you better go an buy one. You could also check out all the stuff you can buy to turn it into a univeral remote control or a fully featured Sat Nav system!

Excellent, but pricey
Runs extremely fast, much more so than any previous iPaqs Ive used from the 3 and 5-series. Size is comparitavely small, and feels just right in the hand. Comes with loads of software, perfect for all sorts of everyday use (Note-taking, scheduling, contacts, viewing files etc). Misses out on 5*s due to plastic body (expensive stuff like this ought to be in an all-metal chassis - HP could take a few pointers from Sony here). Also the price is a bit high - it doesnt help to find that in the USA this thing sells for around £PRICE (equivalent), and even cheaper on educational discount, whereas here we only have the option to buy the thing at a stupidly high £PRICE RRP.
